Saab Automobile AB, founded in 1937 originally to produce fighter planes for the Swedish Air Force, shifted to car manufacturing after World War II. Its first successful model, the Saab 92, debuted in 1949, followed by the Saab 93 and Saab 96, gaining popularity through exports. The 1968 Saab 99 introduced major design innovations and led to a merger with Scania-Vabis. Facing challenges from the 1970s oil crisis, Saab partnered with Fiat to create shared models like the Saab 9000. Eventually, GM bought a stake in Saab, taking full ownership in 1989, but financial struggles in 2008 forced Saab back on the market. Unicorp Auto Paints offers precise color-matched paint to help maintain Saab vehicles.
