Maserati was founded in 1914 by five Italian brothers as an automotive repair shop, transitioning to building their own racing cars after Diatto stopped racing in 1926. Their first production Maserati won the Targa Florio that year. The company’s trident logo, inspired by a Bologna fountain, symbolizes strength and vigor. After Alfieri Maserati’s death in 1932, the brothers sold the company in 1937 but continued working for it as Maserati moved to Modena. The brand achieved notable racing successes, including winning the Indianapolis 500 in 1939 and 1940—the only Italian manufacturer to do so—before retiring from racing after a fatal accident in 1957. Maserati then focused on stylish grand tourers, producing iconic models like the Ghibli. Ownership changed hands multiple times, including French Citroen and later Alessandro de Tomaso, before Fiat revived the brand in 1993. Unicorp Auto Paints offers precise Maserati touch up paint to help owners maintain their cars' flawless appearance.
